Is the first unlosable suitcase? July has just launched CaseSafe – the world’s first trackable suitcase with an integrated tracker that was created by Apple and Google.
The new CaseSafe range features a built-in tracker that can be tracked by either an iOS device (iPhone and iPad) or Android smartphone or tablet.
According to AirHelp, around 36 million bags are mishandled each year, and about 1.8 million bags go missing entirely.
Since AirTags and other trackers were released a few years ago one of the most popular uses was to pop them into a suitcase so travellers can always know where their bag is located.
Popular Australian luggage brand July has decided to save customers the trouble with its new CaseSafe line of luggage and decided to integrate the tracker inside the case.
It is located under the locking mechanism inside the case.
When customers receive the case all they need to do is remove the tab from the tracker – this connects the battery and activates the tracker and put it into pairing mode.
We received the July Checked Plus and set up the tracker in minutes.
We linked the case’s tracker to our iPhone which meant which we were using the FindMy app – that same app used to keep track of Apple’s own AirTags.
If you are an Android smartphone user you can use Google Find Hub to pair.
In the Find My app you go to devices – click the + button and choose “Other Item” and the July suitcase appears in the list.
You can then rename it so you can easily identify it.
And that’s it.
We took the July CaseSafe Checked Plus suitcase on a recent trip to San Francisco and we could always track its location.
We were also able check if the suitcase was on the plane when were leaving and back in Sydney when we arrived home.
And like an AirTag we can play a sound on the suitcase’s tracker and be directed to the bag’s location as well.
The July CaseSafe suitcase looks like the regular July suitcase with an aerospace grade German polycarbonate shell with anodised corner bumpers and a 20-height multi-stop telescopic handle.
They also have the SilentMove 360-degree spinner double wheels for effortless movement between gates and when you reach your destination.
The July CaseSafe suitcases are available in all of July’s core colours in Carry On, Checked and Checked Plus sizes
The July CaseSafe range starts at $395 for CarryOne with CaseSafe.
July Checked with CaseSafe is priced at $445 and Checked Plus with CaseSafe costs $495.
