Fitbit has unveiled the Alta – an activity band with a new look and feel along with a larger screen and a number of additional features designed to keep you moving and keep you motivated.
Fitbit is one of the leaders in the fitness tracker category and the Fitbit Alba is the latest in its popular line of products.
It has slim look and a satin finish with the tracker module made of stainless steel.
Users can even change the bands to match what you’re wearing or suit what you’re doing with a number of choices of colours and materials including leather and polished silver.
The Fitbit Alta has an OLED display which can be viewed in portrait or landscape to make it easier to read.
It will display the time, your step count, distance, calories burned and active minutes.
You’ll also see all of your smart notifications like texts, emails and calendar alerts.
The device can also monitor your sleep and even act as a silent alarm to wake you up in the morning.
On the activity side, the Fitbit Alta will always be encouraging you to move with a new feature pushing you to reach an hourly goal of 250 steps.
It can also recognise activities like walking, running, outdoor biking along with other cardio workouts like dance classes and boxing plus sports like basketball, soccer and tennis.
But Fitbit Alta is not waterproof but can still handle a splash of water in the rain or when you wash your hands.
The Fitbit Alta will be available in March and priced at $199.
Customers can pre-order the device now from major retailers like JB Hi-Fi, Harvey Norman, Officeworks and Rebel Sports.
Classic fitness bands are priced at $49.95 each with Luxe soft premium hide leather bands in graphite, pink and camel at $99.95.
The Luxe hand polished stainless steel silver bangle will be priced at $169.95 with the gold version available later in the year.
