Alcatel OneTouch has demonstrated once again you don’t have to spend hundreds of dollars to get a quality smartphone after unveiling an affordable new device and releasing another into the market that will challenge the big players.
One of the fastest growing smartphone and tablet brands, Alcatel OneTouch has revealed the Quatro 4G Android device with a 4.5-inch screen, 5-megapixel camera and slick silver chassis.
Under the hood is a 1.2Ghz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, 8GB of internal storage and microSD card slot to expand the memory by an additional 32GB.
The Alcatel OneTouch Quatro is running Android 4.4.2 and the device weighs in at just 147g.
And it’s priced at just $99 and available now.

It will be the first 4G device available exclusively through Boost Mobile which uses Telstra’s fast and reliable mobile network.
Alcatel OneTouch has also announced the local availability of the Idol 3 – a product unveiled six months ago and reviewed by Tech Guide – which can now be purchased through Dodo stores and online.
Priced at just $379 and available in November, the Idol 3 has a sleek design with a 5.5-inch full high definition screen, a 13-megapixel rear camera, 8-megapixel front camera and dual front-facing JBL speakers.

It is powered by a 1.5Ghz quad-core processor and is running the Android 5.0 Lollipop operating system.
It also has the unique ability to be used in any orientation – in other words there is no such thing as upside down with the Idol 3.
No matter which end you hold up – the screen will automatically adjust so it is always the right way up no matter how you pull it out of your bag or pocket.
As Tech Guide mentioned in the Idol 3 review – the device has the quality and features to rival smartphones that are three times the price.

Alcatel OneTouch has also announced Australian Ironwoman Tara Coleman as its new brand ambassador for the 2015-2016 summer sports season and beyond.
The 24-year-old Coleman has been competing in the Nutri-Grain Ironwoman Series for the past six years while balancing her commitment to volunteer surf life saving.

“Tara brings our brand values to life in a very real and quintessentially Australian way. Her success, passion for sport, fun and vibrant personality and commitment to give back to the community all factored in our decision,” says Alcatel OneTouch regional general manager Sam Skontos.
