Samsung has outlined the latest range of its 2023 TV line-up that includes Neo QLED, Micro LED and OLED models which are focusing on enhanced connectivity and offering a more personalised viewing experience.
Samsung’s TVs will stand along the company’s lifestyle products and accessories to create multidevice integration through its Smart Things platform.
“In 2023, we are pushing boundaries of innovation to offer consumers more than just premium picture quality, but a holistic, premium device experience tailored to what they need and want out of their connected home,” said Cheolgi Kim, EVP of Visual Display Business at Samsung Electronics.
“With SmartThings, our advanced technology is seamless and intuitive, making life more sustainable, accessible and enjoyable every day.”
In 2023, Samsung is offering customers a wider choice of premium options which includes the Neo QLED 8K and 4K TVs which are powered by Samsung’s Advanced Neural Quantum processor that drives the Quantum Mini LED lit-TV with 14-bit processing and AI upscaling which results in a more lifelike picture.
The 2023 Neo QLED TV is more than just a clear picture.
Also on board is Samsung’s proprietary algorithm for its Auto HDR Remastering which uses AI and deep learning to analyse the image in real time and apply High Dynamic Range (HDR) on Standard Dynamic Range (SDR) content.
The TV will also act as a Smart Things hub so it can automatically sync devices for easier monitoring and control.
Customers will also be able to see a 3D map view which so you can have a bird’s eye view of your home and all the Smart Things devices at a glance.
New features include ChatTogether where users can take part in a live chat group to react and share their thoughts with people watching the same content.
ConnectTime makes it possible to take your video calls from connected devices on the TV and then transfer it back to a smaller device if a user wants privacy.
Samsung’s 2023 Micro LED range will include three models from 50 to 140 inches to provide customers with the ultimate solution to enjoy stunning picture quality.
And because of its modular design, Micro LED is not restricted by shape, aspect ratio or size so it can be completely customised to fit a consumer’s needs.
After re-entering the OLED market in 2022, Samsung is expanding its 2023 OLED range with three sizes – 55, 65 and the new ultra large 77-inch models.
These new OLED TVs include Quantum Dot technology, developed from the company’s Neo QLED TVs, along with Neural Quantum processors to maintain the core strengths of the OLED technology while improving the previous of brightness and colour accuracy.
The new 2023 Samsung OLEDs have a 144Hz refresh rate and inherit all of Samsung’s smart features including the Samsung Gaming Hub.
And for the first time Samsung OLEDs will include AMD’s FreeSync Premium Pro certification to make it a high-quality option for gaming.
Samsung’s lifestyle TV’s have also been upgraded.
The Premiere short throw projector will now be available in an 8K model and support a maximum screen size of 150-inches.
The freestyle projector has a new smart edge blending features which allows users to connect two of the devices and watch content in a ultrawide 21:9 configuration.
Samsung is also boosting its sustainability credentials and have announced it will replace 20 per cent of the bracket parts used for the solar cell remote with recycled ocean bound plastic.
Parts of the main board will now use recycled aluminium cans and copper to replace 12 per cent of the original materials.
On the audio side, Samsung’s TVs also have powerful built-in speakers to enhance the viewing experience even further.
Samsung’s flagship TVs and sound bars will offer Sound Remastering which uses artificial intelligence to remaster sounds to ensure clearer voices and surround sound that’s played at just the right volume.
The new soundbars include the flagship HW-Q990C which has 11.1.4 channel sound supporting Dolby Atmos.
The ultraslim HW-S800B has Dolby Atmos from a 3.1.2 channel device that’s only 40mm tall and just 38mm deep.
And QSymphony will continue to provide a stunning connection between the TV and sound bar to engage all speakers together and provide an even larger sound.
