New Optus Family Home Internet NBN plans come with a wi-fi booster

Optus has launched a new all-in-one home internet solution which includes a modem and separate wi-fi booster to ensure families have fast and reliable wi-fi across their entire home.

The new Optus Family Internet Plans include both the new Optus Ultra Wi-Fi Modem and Ultra Wi-Fi Booster which work together to extended the wireless signal to every corner and every level of your house.

More time is being spent either working or learning from home so our wireless networks are more important than ever.

Reliable wi-fi is also necessary when streaming content and for online gaming.

The Optus Ultra Wi-Fi Modem with backup 4G SIM

An all-in-one solution like the Optus Family Internet Plans could be the solution for families to get the most out of their NBN connection.

Research conducted on behalf of Optus revealed 54 per cent of Australians have experienced speed and/or reliability issues.

Most of the time, the issue is not with the home’s internet connection but with quality and range of the wireless network.

Customers who take up the plan will receive an Optus Ultra Wi-Fi Modem which acts as the main router that links wirelessly to the Ultra Wi-Fi Booster to create a mesh network.

Typically the modem is located at the front of the home with the booster able to be positioned in the centre of the home or on the second level of a two-storey home.

The Optus Ultra Wi-Fi Modem also has a 4G SIM card onboard to keep customers connected in the event of an NBN outage or service interruption.

“At Optus we are proud to be meeting the needs of Australian families with this all-in-one solution, being the first of its kind for the Australian market,” Optus managing director of marketing and revenue, Matt Williams.

“The inclusion of the new Optus Ultra WI-Fi Booster as part of our new Family Internet plans ensures families can get the most out of their home internet service and keep connected to the things they love, from more parts of  their home.

“We look forward to continuing to lead the way when it comes to our NBN offerings, currently holding the ACCC’s No 1 rating for NBN average download speeds for the fifth quarter in a row*.”

The Optus Family Internet Plans will start at $79 for the first 12 months (usually $85) until April 4, 2021 for the NBN 50/20 plan. This will include the modem and one booster as well as an Optus Sport monthly subscription and a Fetch Mini set-top box.

For the 100/20 NBN plan, customers will need to go for the Family Internet Ultimate 100 plan which is priced at $99 a month (usually $105) for 12 months. Offer ends April 1
