Vaya takes on the big carriers with Australia’s cheapest unlimited plan

Value mobile service provider Vaya can now lay claim to having Australia’s cheapest unlimited mobile plan with a new offering that costs just $16 a month.

And with the option of selecting a 12-month plan, that cost can come down to $174 upfront for the year which works out to be $14.50 a month.

The Unlimited S Plan has unlimited calls and texts and 1GB of data.

The new $16 plan from Vaya, which uses the Optus 4G network, is similar to the plans offered by Telstra, Optus and Vodafone that cost more than $30 a month.

Vaya will also now offer its Price Guarantee across its entire suite of plans so it can price match other non-promotional prices from rival telcos and also offer the first month free.

More than half of Australia’s 25 million handsets (51.7 per cent) are now on non-contract plans, according to tech analyst Telsyte.

And 53 per cent of consumers are considering changing carriers if they can get a cheaper price.

“With the insights from Telsyte showing that mobile users are increasingly open to BYO plans and driven by value, we want to continue to show Aussie consumers that we are committed to providing a low-cost, high quality alternative to the carriers,” said Jennifer Snell, Senior Digital Marketing and CRM Manager at Vaya.

“At the same time, we recognise that while more people are looking to move towards BYO mobile plans, many still want the added security of a low price, capped, one-off payment.

“Our customers can now have the best of both worlds and grab even more value with one of Vaya’s new 12-month plans.”
