Rode has unveiled the Rodecaster Video S – a more compact version of the flagship Rodecaster Video – to make it easier for video podcasters, live streamers and other creatives to produce and share their content.
The Rodecaster Video S has the same powerful video switching, recording and streaming capabilities along with a fully integrated professional audio mixer.
Rode decided to create a unit with a smaller footprint to make it fit more easily into creative workflows and provide a professional setup and performance without complexity.

The Rodecaster Video S has the same octa-core processor as the Rodecaster Video and includes three HDMI inputs and a configurable HDMI output so users can easily connect and switch between multiple cameras and other external devices.
There’s also a USB-C input so you can integrate additional video or other audio sources.
Audio-wise, the Rodecaster Video S has two Neutrik combo inputs featuring Rode’s ultra-low noise Revolution Preamps and dual built-in Series IV wireless receivers.
It also has Bluetooth for even more flexibility so you can be assured of quality sound capture either from XLR or USB microphones, wireless systems and remote guests.
The Rodecaster Video S provides four video source buttons, five scene buttons and four assignable function keys to trigger video feeds, switch layout and play media.
Also onboard is a high resolution 2-inch touchscreen and a rotary encoder to offer precise control over your transitions, levels and other settings.
The Rodecaster Video S is also ideal for solo operators with intelligent auto switching that can switch camera angles based on who’s speaking.
With the Rodecaster Video S, creators can stream directly to YouTube, Twitch and other platforms via Wi-Fi, Ethernet or USB.
They can also record directly to an external USB drive or SSD along with the option of capturing every video stream and audio source independently to offer even more flexibility in postproduction.
The Rodecaster Video S allows users to turn their iPhone into a wireless camera and use both the front and rear cameras at the same time for dual cam streaming.
This means a single iPhone can capture multiple angles at once which is ideal for interviews, podcasts or solo content where you are capturing reactions.
And with the Rodecaster app users can also have full wireless control of the unit.
The Rodecaster Video S is designed and manufactured at Rode’s state of the art facilities in Sydney.
