Kobo unveils a new range of eReaders in time for Christmas
Kobo has just released its attractive new range of eReaders which are available to buy from leading retailers across Australia just in time for Christmas.
The new devices – the Kobo Arc tablet, Kobo Glo and the Kobo Mini eReaders – are available in a number of fashionable colours.
The three new Kobo products are sleek and light and provide a whole new way for avid readers to experience their books.
KOBO ARC – $250 (16GB), $300 (32GB), $350 (64GB)
The Kobo Arc is as much a tablet as it is an eReader. It has a 7-inch touchscreen and is powered by the Android 4.0 operating system.
Users can enjoy their content – books, movies, TV shows, music and web pages – on Kobo exclusive Tapestries user interface.
The UI can also find new content based in what users “pin” to their Tapestries.
Also included with the Kobo Arc is a built-in camera and microphone and comes in black or white with optional blue and purple interchangeable SnapBacks.
KOBO GLO – $160
The Kobo Glo is a dedicated eReader with a 6-inch no-glare XGA high resolution screen that has the same look as printed paper.
But unlike most other e-ink readers that would require a light to read in low light, the Kobo Glo also includes ComfortLight technology which provides a soft, adjustable light to enable reading at any time of the day or night.
And unlike a backlit screen you’d find on a tablet or smartphone, the Kobo Glo’s ComfortLight actually directs light inwards so even reading in bed is not going to disturb your partner.
The Kobo Glo is available in black or white with back colours pink sunset, blue moon and silver star.
KOBO MINI – $100
The Kobo Mini has the title of the world’s lightest full-featured eReader.
With a 5-inch e-ink screen that’s easy on the eyes, the Kobo Mini is small enough to take anywhere and is perfect for people on the move.
The Kobo Mini is also easy to hold in one hand, the same way customers are used to holding physical printed books.
It comes in black or white and has SnapBacks in teal, ruby red and purple.
In terms of books, there are more than three million titles available which will work on the device.
