JBL Bar 1300 has detachable rear speakers to bring cinema sound quality to your home

JBL has kicked off the year with a bang with the release of its new flagship JBL Bar 1300 soundbar to bring cinema quality sound to your home viewing experience.

The JBL Bar 1300 offers Dolby Atmos and DTS:X surround and has detachable wireless rear speakers.

The 15 channel soundbar also has six-upfiring speakers and Harman’s Multibeam technology to surround you with sound.

When you’re ready to watch your movie, you detach the rear speakers from either side of the JBL Bar 1300 and place them at the back of the room.

These rear speakers have onboard rechargeable batteries that will run for up to four hours so no need to find a power point.

They connect to the soundbar wirelessly via Bluetooth and provide a true surround sound to complement the audio coming from the main unit and the 10-inch wireless subwoofer.

Users can even take one of the detachable speakers and pair it directly to their smartphone and use it as a standalone Bluetooth speaker.

And when you’ve finished your movie, you reattached the rear speaker to either side of the soundbar so they can be recharged again.

Tech Guide heard a demo of the JBL Bar 1300 at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, and we were impressed with the clarity and the quality of the Dolby Atmos surround sound while watching a clip from the film Ready Player One.

“Our JBL soundbars take in-home theatre sound to the next level and the JBL Bar 1300 truly stands out,” said Dave Rogers, President, Harman Lifestyle Division.

“We’ve packed a record number of features, drivers and jaw-dropping acoustic performance into one versatile, easy-to-use soundbar.”

The JBL Bar 1300 also increases voice clarity so you can hear the actors speaking clearer than ever before even while there are loud sounds during the scene.

Users can also connect the JBL Bar 1300 via Bluetooth to their smartphone to enjoy their streaming services using the JBL One app which includes customisable EQ settings.

The JBL Bar 1300 will also work with voice assistants Alexa, Google Assistant and Siri and includes AirPlay 2, Alexa MRM and Chromecast to stream their favourite audio content.

The JBL Bar 1300 will go on sale from February. Australian pricing and launch date have yet to be announced.

JBL Bar 1300 features:

– 11.1.4 Channels and 6 up-firing drivers

– 1170W power output

– Dolby Atmos®, DTS:X 3D surround sound and MultiBeam™ technology

– 10’’ Wireless Subwoofer

– HARMAN PureVoice technology

– Compatible with JBL One App
