Apple TV app and Apple TV+ now available on the latest LG smart TVs

The Apple TV app and the Apple TV+ subscription service are now available to enjoy on the latest LG smart TVs in Australia.

Customers with compatible 2019 model LG smart TVs and those who purchase any of the upcoming 2020 LG TVs will be able to access the Apple TV app which also gives users the chance to subscribe to and watch the Apple TV+ streaming service which includes popular new shows Morning Wars, Servant, See, For All Mankind and Little America.

The Apple TV app means customers don’t need to purchase and connect the Apple TV device to their TV to access their iTunes video library and to buy or rent more than 100,000 movies and TV shows.

Many titles available on Apple TV and Apple TV+ offer Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos which is supported by the LG smart TVs so you can enjoy the content in the highest quality.

The LG 2019 TVs will also now support Apple AirPlay 2 which makes it possible to share or mirror content freon their iPhone, iPad or Mac directly to the LG TV.

Customers can also stream their music on the TV and sync it with other AirPlay 2 compatible speakers.

The LG TVs also support Apple HomeKit which means users can control their TV from the Home app on their iOS device or by using their voice through Siri.

All LG 2019 OLED TVs will receive the Apple TV app as well as compatible LG SUPER UHD TVs (series SM99, SM94, SM90, SM86, SM81).

Later this month, the Apple TV app will also be rolled out to select UHD TVs (series UM76, UM74, UM73, UM69).

Naturally, the Apple TV app and Apple TV+ will also be available on 2020 TVs which will be launched in the coming months.

Owners of 2018 LG TVs will also receive the Apple TV app later this year via an over-the-air firmware upgrade.

“LG continues to offer the latest in home entertainment experience through technological innovations that support the delivery of high-quality viewing and user convenience,” said Park Hyoung-sei, president of the LG Home Entertainment Company.

“By bringing the Apple TV app and Apple TV+ to even more TV models, we are once again demonstrating our determination to meet consumers’ needs and add value to our products.”
