Arlo’s new Essential Indoor Camera and Touchless Video Doorbell honoured at CES 2021

Leading connected camera brand Arlo has been honoured with two 2021 Consumer Electronics Show Innovation Awards for its new Arlo Essential Indoor Camera and Touchless Video Doorbell.

The Essential Indoor Camera Includes an easy-to-control automated privacy shield so users have complete control when the cameras are recording.

Not everyone would be comfortable with a camera that’s always recording and monitoring movement inside their home when they are there.

But, like a security alarm that is turned on when you leave your home, the Arlo Essential Indoor Camera can be activated in the same way to work when you’re not at home.

Families can choose when the camera monitors and records video to provide peace of mind knowing their home is being monitored when they’re not there.

When the privacy shield is in disarm mode, recording and motion and audio detection are disabled and won’t resume until the shield is opened again by the user via the Arlo app.

“The CES Innovation Awards highlight the most thoughtful technology and we are pleased our Essential Indoor Camera and Touchless Video Doorbell are in such great company,” said Brad Little, Vice President & Managing Director APAC.

“Arlo is constantly working to deliver added peace of mind to our users.

“Security solutions like the Essential Indoor Camera and its integrated privacy shield prove our ongoing commitment to privacy and home security excellence.”

The new Arlo Touchless Video Doorbell is the latest addition to the company’s award-winning video doorbell line-up.

The device uses precise proximity-sensing technology to calculate a visitor’s distance and zero in as they approach the door.

When the Arlo Touchless Video Doorbell detects the visitor, an audible chime sounds within the home while the visitor will see a light to confirm that the doorbell has been engaged and the homeowner has been alerted.

In this era of COVID-19, the Arlo Touchless Video Doorbell is designed to help guests and delivery personnel limit communal points of contact while at the same time keeping the homeowner’s front entry secure.

The Arlo Essential Indoor Camera and Touchless Video Doorbell will be released in Australia in the coming months.
