Rakuten Kobo has just unveiled two new eReaders which includes a number of new features – the Kobo Sage and the Kobo Libra 2 – that can take your digital reading experience to another level.

The Kobo Sage and Kobo Libra 3 have a sleek ergonomic design and include Bluetooth so you can read your books and listen to Kobo audiobooks on the device as well.

Kobo Libra 2

Both new devices have built-in ComfortLight PRO technology so you can read your books day and night and adjust the brightness and control the blue light level to reduce eye strain.

Readers can also choose dark mode for white text on a black screen.

The new Kobo eReaders are also water resistant so there’s no limit to where you can take them to continue you reading your book.

Kobo users can also use their device to borrow e-books from their local library with the one-touch OverDrive access.

You can search for the title you want and choose to either borrow or buy.

Kobo Sage

KOBO SAGE – $439.95

Kobo Sage offers luxury digital reading with an 8-inch HD E Ink Carta 1200 glare-free screen , 32GB of onboard storage and Dropbox support.

The ComfortLightPRO offers adjustable brightness and temperature control.

It will be available in black with Kobo SleepCovers in light green and black along with a black PowerCover.

Kobo Sage also supports Kobo Stylus so you can mark up, highlight and write notes in your book eBooks and PDFs.

The stylus also offers pressure sensitivity just like a real pen or pencil.

Kobo Libra 2

KOBO LIBRA 2 – $279.99

The Kobo Libra 2 is designed to be by your side every day.

It has a 7-inch HD E Ink Carta 1200 glare-free screen with ComfortLight Pro along with 32GB storage.

Users can also extend their reading experience with their smartphones and tables using the Kobo app so your library of books is always with you.

The Kobo PowerCover can also protect your screen but also give you an extra charge on the move.

“With over a decade of top-rated eReaders under our belt, innovating and improving our device line up to ensure Kobo remains the strongest digital reading option on the market has become second nature,” said Michael Tamblyn, CEO, Rakuten Kobo.

“We’re continuously working with book lovers to make our offering—from eReaders, eBooks and audiobooks, to our Rakuten Kobo app—as strong as possible to improve the reading lives of our valued customers.

“With Kobo Sage and Kobo Libra 2, we’ve infused the features Kobo users love with the latest software and Bluetooth® wireless technology so you can read or listen through your Kobo and take your entire reading life with you wherever you go.

“With Kobo Sage, our world-class product designers took the digital reading experience even further with support for the compatible Kobo Stylus so readers can really engage with their eBooks, making notes, marking up eBooks and highlighting notable passages for active, insightful reading.

“The introduction of the new premium PowerCover for Kobo Sage is another exciting addition, keeping your eReader protected and charged while you’re on-the-go to maximise your reading time. From reading and writing to listening to Kobo Audiobooks, Kobo Sage does it all—and now with even more battery life.”

The Kobo Sage ($439.95) and Kobo Libra 2 ($279.99) are available to pre-order now and will go on sale on October 19.
