Meta has unveiled the latest generation of its AI glasses – the Meta Ray-Ban Display which can now show you answers, read messages and take video calls through the lenses.
Priced at $US799 and set for release in the US on September 30, the Meta Ray-Ban Display are the first AI glasses with a high resolution monocular display.
No Australian availability has been announced.
The glasses can now show you answers to your questions and surroundings inside the lenses.
Users can see short texts, WhatsApp messages and reels with the Meta Ray-Ban Display and view text and multimedia messages from WhatsApp and Messenger.
It will also be possible share live video calls from WhatsApp and Messenger so the person you’re calling can see what you’re looking at through the cameras on the glasses.
A future feature will be pedestrian navigation for select cities and more will be added over time.
The Meta Ray-Ban Display will also offer live captioning for users with hearing difficulties and translate languages in real time.
Meta also announced the Oakley Meta Vanguard – these are performance AI glasses for runners and cyclists which has a central camera that has a 122-degree field of view with 3K video recording.
Available in Australia from October 21 for $US499, the glasses will also integrate the Meta AI app with Strava and Garmin so users can receive real-time data on the fly hands free.
Also announced was the Meta Ray-Ban Gen 2 which have twice the battery life and ultra 3K video recording.
