Logitech has released the Logi Base – a charging stand especially designed for Apple’s popular 9.7-inch and 12.9-inch iPad Pros that powers the devices through the side smart connectors.

The Logi Base is made of high grade aluminium and has a slick design to complement the iPad Pro’s premium look.

It positions the iPad Pro at a comfortable viewing angle to watch movies, play games, type and to even use it as second screen with your iMac or Macbook.

It’s a handy solution for the kitchen to place the iPad within easy view if you’re using it as a cookbook or to watch something while you’re cooking.

And while it’s positioned on the stand, the charging contacts line-up perfectly with the smart connectors on the side of the iPad Pro.

This is the first device to charge the iPad Pro through the three smart connectors which are also used to connect and transfer data through the Apple smart keyboard cover.

Magnets in the charging cradle helps bring the iPad Pro directly in place so there’s no guesswork to position it. It just pops right into place.

Logi Base is an ideal docking and charging station with a Lightning cable connecting to the back of the stand and delivering the power to the contacts.

The Logi Base from Logitech works with both the 9.7-inch and 12.9-inch versions of the iPad Pro.

It’s available now and is priced at $149.95.
