Epson launches new printers, scanner and projector to help users cope in a COVID world

Epson has released a range of exciting new products that can help users embrace the new normal of the COVID world yet still stay as productive and creative as ever.

The new Epson products include new printers, a short-throw projector and a photo scanner.

In a world where we need to work from home, keep our distance from co-workers if we are in the office and avoid unnecessary outside visitors, the Epson products can help all with all of that.

EPSON ECOTANK ET5800 PRINTER – $1,199

The latest edition to the popular EcoTank range, the ET5800 is an A4 wireless all-in-one printer which offers fast, cartridge-free printing with enough ink included in the box to print up to 4500 pages in mono and 2800 pages in colour.

And like all the other Epson EcoTank printers, the ET 5800 is powered by Epson’s patented PrecisionCore heat-free technology.

The printer has an ultra-low power consumption but you can still punch out fast prints of 25 black and white pages and 12 colour pages per minute with no warm-up time required and the first page out in seconds.

The Epson ET5800 has a 500-sheet paper capacity, a specialty paper feed as well as a 4.3-inch colour touchscreen to easily navigate the menu system.

Because of its fast output, people in the office won’t be crowding around the printer waiting for their job so the company can still comply with COVID practises.

And the machines are also designed for heavy duty performance which means lower maintenance so there it is less likely for you to require a visit for a service or repair.

EPSON SURECOLOR P706 ($1,295) and SURECOLOR 906 ($1,995) PRINTERS

For larger format professional printing, Epson has got you covered with the SureColor P706 and SureColor P906 which offers stunning results for photography, graphic design, fine art and illustration businesses.

The printers have a 10-channel MicroPiezo printhead which includes dedicated channels for both photo and matte black ink types and with no ink switching necessary.

And for the first time users can print directly from iOS devices to the P706 and P906 in a colour managed workflow.

The printers can also accommodate both roll and cut sheet media and also have an optional fully enclosed roll media adapter which allow prints up to 18 metres long.

EPSON SURECOLOUR 560 DYE SUBLIMATION PRINTER – $4,995

The Epson SureColor F560 is a compact 24-inch dye sublimation printer which comes as a complete package and includes ink, media and software.

The unit is designed for small businesses and fine art applications and works as a heat press to enable the production of a wide range of durable items ranging from metal signage and photo prints to soft signage, custom cabinetry, clothing, decor and merchandise.

The dye sublimation process is ideal for materials that have moderate heat resistance and will accept a polyester coating including ceramic, glass, metal, wood, certain plastics, fibreglass and polycarbonates.

The printer comes with both Mac and Windows drivers and can be used with standard graphics software.

EPSON FAST FOTO FF-680W PHOTP SCANNER – $799

The popular and award-winning fast photo FF-680W Wi-Fi photo scanner allows users to scan an album of pictures in minutes.

And now Epson has developed a new FastFoto app to make the photo scanner even better and easier to use.

From the app, users can scan photos directly as well as edit, share and even create stories and videos with them.

It’s also possible to add background music from either the supplied styles within the app or from your own music library.

EPSON EPIQVISION EH-LS300B LASER TV PROJECTOR – From $3,999

For a while we weren’t able to go to the cinema and even now some are still uncomfortable to venture back.

But you can enjoy a big screen experience with the new EH LS300B laser TV short-throw projector which offers a picture of up to 120 inches at a brightness of 3600 lumens.

The device provides an affordable option for big screen entertainment.

The Epson unit sits close to the wall and can produce a full high-definition image that is bright enough to enjoy even in the middle of the day.

Using Epson’s patented three LCD technology offers a high contrast ratio of 2,500,000 to 1.

On the audio side, Epson has partnered with Yamaha to create a unique 2.1 sound for an impressive audio and visual performance.

The EH LS300BCan also come as a package that includes a 100-inch or 120-inch ambient light rejection screen.

Stay tuned to Tech Guide for a review of some of these Epson products in the coming weeks.
