Motorola has launched its new Edge range of mid-tier smartphones which are all 5G compatible and boasting an impressively thin design, large OLED displays and advanced camera systems at up to 108-megapixels.

They also include Motorola’s new Ready For platform which allows customers to amplify their experience with the device by linking wirelessly to a TV or a PC.

The company also unveiled the moto g50 – a sub $400 smartphone that is also 5G.

“So much has changed in the world recently, so with the latest Motorola edge family, it was important for us to bring consumers what they need most,” said Kurt Bonnici, Head of Motorola ANZ.

“Motorola has always worked to democratise cutting-edge technology to empower people in their daily lives.

“With this philosophy, these new devices go beyond the previous generation of edge in nearly every category to bring incredible new features at more accessible price points.

“In addition, the smartphone is now more than just a communication tool. It is the hub for information, entertainment, productivity and content creation.

“Motorola’s new Ready For platform elevates these experiences to be more immersive and productive by putting the power in the consumer’s hands to realise the full potential of their device.”

MOTOROLA EDGE 20 PRO – $899

The moto Edge 20 Pro has a 6.7-inch Max Vision OLED display with 10-bit colour and HDR10+ compatibility.

It offers a 144Hz refresh rate for an improved viewing experience on the go.

Onboard is a 108-megapixel main camera and Motorola’s first ever periscope telephoto lens for 50x Super Zoom.

Available from September 2021 in Midnight Sky and Indigo Vegan Leather at JB Hi-Fi, Officeworks, The Good Guys, Mobileciti, Motorola & Lenovo Online.

MOTOROLA EDGE 20 – $699

At just 6.99mm, the moto Edge 20 is one of the company’s thinnest ever smartphones.

The device has the same 108-megapixel camera as the Edge 20 Pro but with a 30x Super Zoom.

It also shares the same 6.7-inch OLED 144Hz display with 128GB built-in storage, 8GB RAM and a 4,000mAh fast charging battery.

Motorola says just 10 minutes of charge gives you a day’s worth of power.

Available from September 2021 in Frosted Onyx at JB Hi-Fi, Officeworks, Mobiliciti, Motorola & Lenovo Online

MOTOROLA EDGE 20 FUSION – $499

This is Motorola’s most competitively priced Edge smartphone which also includes a 6.7-inch OLED display and a 5,000mAh battery with fast charging.

Available from 26 August 2021 in Electric Graphite and Cyber Teal at JB Hi-Fi, Officeworks, The Good Guys, Harvey Norman, Big W (Online), Mobiliciti, Motorola & Lenovo Online. Available at Vodafone by the end of September.

READY FOR PLATFORM

Ready For allows user to bring their media, games and video calls to your TV or your PC to enjoy them on a larger display.

The platform utilises the miracast technology of the latest smart TVs.

A quick settings panel on the smartphone will show you the closest display that you can use to showcase your content. It works just like Apple’s AirPlay.

MOTOROLA G50 5G – $399

The new moto G50 5G offers 5G speeds for downloading, streaming and online gaming at an affordable price.

It has a 48-megapixel sensor for sharp clear images including in low light with Quad Pixel technology that offers four times more light sensitivity.

Onboard is 128GB of storage for movies, photos, songs, apps and games as well as a 5,000mAh for all-day use.
