Swann releases ActiveResponse – a personal alarm system that can fit in your pocket

Security company Swann has just launched ActiveResponse – a personal alarm which gives Australians the opportunity to take control of their safety wherever they go.

The second generation device is now available for the first time in Australia.

The compact ActiveResponse personal safety alarm has an improved ergonomic design and a built-in 120 decibel siren which can be activated when you’re feeling unsafe, dealing with a medical emergency or involved in an accident.

It is ideal for school students, shift workers, hikers and solo travellers.

ActiveResponse includes a long lasting battery and pairs via Bluetooth with the Swann security app on your smart phone so you can activate remote monitoring.

And the device is small enough to be discretely held in your hand or your pocket while walking and can even be attached to a keyring or a bag so it’s at your fingertips every day.

A single press alerts your nominated contact of your GPS location and pulling the trigger activates the loud alarm.

“We’re excited to introduce ActiveResponse Personal Safety Alarm in Australia for the first time,” said Alex Talevski, CEO of Swann.

“Swann was founded to give everyday people the tools to feel safe and protected no matter where life takes them.

“The ActiveResponse Personal Safety Alarm represents a next step forward in that mission, providing timely peace of mind in the face of threats, accidents and medical emergencies that anyone may experience while on the move.

Built on the legacy of our industry-leading home security cameras and doorbells, this compact device offers consumers an affordable lifeline that fits right in their bag or pocket.”

The Swann ActiveResponse Personal Safety Alarm is priced at $39.95 and available through the Swann website and from retailers including Bunnings Warehouse, Harvey Norman and JB Hi-Fi.

The ActiveResponse features include:

– Free SMS to emergency contact: An emergency contact will receive an alert (including your GPS location) when activated

– Powerful siren: Pulling the ring triggers a loud 120-decibel siren to draw attention or create a diversion, and sends an SMS

– Attach, conceal or carry: Discreet (60mm tall x 15mm diameter), lightweight and stylish aluminium design is about the same size as a lipstick case, perfect for carrying in your keyring, pocket or bag

– Travel compatible: The device can be taken through security screening at airports and is able to be carried onto planes

– Lockable to avoid false alarms: Twist-lock design protects from accidental activation

– Stylish & functional: Available in 2 colours (aqua or black) & includes keyring accessory & lanyard for easy carrying or wearing

– Long battery life: 1x CR2 Battery included (12 month estimated battery life)

– Pairs to your phone & the Swann Security app: Seamless pairing & connection via the Swann Security app & Bluetooth allows you to easily manage settings

– Recognised at CES: ActiveResponse™ was named an Honoree at the CES Innovation Awards
