Reolink’s new Altas security cameras offer pre-recording capabilities and a battery that lasts over a year

Reolink has launched its impressive range of Altas battery-powered wireless security cameras – the Altas and the Altas PT Ultra – with pre-recording capabilities so you don’t miss a thing and a battery that will last more than a a year between charges.

Unlike most other battery cameras, the Reolink Altas has smart pre-recording which includes footage up to 10 seconds before any motion is detected.

This way users can see everything that happens in front of the camera rather than just the last few seconds of the event whether it’s a package delivery, a visitor approaching or suspicious activity.

Reolink Altas PT Ultra

Onboard the Altas cameras is a huge 20,000mAh battery that can offer up to 336 hours of pre-recording function.

When in motion-triggered mode, the Altas battery will last up to a massive 540 days based on the average 300 seconds of daily video capture.

The Altas camera come with a 6-watt solar panel to keep the onboard battery topped up with power.

Just one hour of sunlight per day is enough to keep the Reolink camera powered continuously to maintain that pre-record function.

That regular power stream means users don’t have to remove the camera for charging or run a charging cable to the onboard USB-C port.

Instead the solar panel provides the power so it becomes a set and forget solution.

Reolink Altas with Reolink 6-Watt Solar Panel

The Reolink Solar Panel can also be purchased separately to link to a camera.

Of course the image quality day and night is the most important feature of a security camera and the Reolink delivers with its ColorX technology and the large f1.0 aperture lens and 1/1.8 inch sensor which can drag in four times more light than a regular infrared camera.

Even without turning on the internal lights the camera can still offer sharp 2K resolution with accurate colours even in low light conditions.

With the camera’s light on, the Reolink also work to minimise reflections and flaring to ensure you get the clearest video possible even at night.

And it’s not just about video – there is also impressive two way audio onboard so you can talk to someone through the camera and they can respond as clearly as if you’re on a phone call.

Naturally the Reolink cameras are fully weather-proof with an IP65 rating.

There’s also AI onboard so it can easily distinguish between people, animals and vehicles without any subscription fees.

And the Reolink cameras also offers local storage with a built-in memory card slot for a microSD card.

This means users don’t have to take out a subscription to receive smart notifications and to retrieve older footage.

Setting up the camera is a simple step by step process.

Using the Reolink app, users simply scan a QR code on the camera and connect it to your wi-fi network.

Thanks to camera’s dual band connection users can connect to a 2.4GHz or 5GHz network so connection is fast and easy.

From the app, users can see live footage and receive notifications if movement is detected.

In the case of the Reolink Altas PT Ultra, the app can be used to pan and tilt the camera to monitor even more of your property.

The Reolink cameras can also be easily integrated into your smart home’s ecosystem so you can view and monitor your home through various third party smart devices.

REOLINK ALTAS PT ULTRA – $329.95

The Reolink Altas PT Ultra is a 4K camera with pre-recording that can be panned and aimed through 360-degrees and tilted up and down as well.

It also has dual-band wi-fi connectivity and has a memory card slot for local file storage.

REOLINK ALTAS – $TBA

The Reolink Altas has pre-recording and 2K video quality with dual band wi-fi and a huge 20,000mAh battery that can run for up to 540 days between charges.

It has an IP66 weatherproof rating can be fully integrated with Google Assistant and Alexa for hands-free control and monitoring.
