Netgear has launched the world’s first quad band Wi-Fi 6E mesh router system In Australia to give users the ability to create a fast and reliable wireless network for the growing number of devices we’re connecting in our homes.

The Netgear Orbi Quad Band Mesh Wi-Fi System (RBKE960 Series) adopts the new Wi-Fi 6E standard with an additional 6GHz wi-fi band to offer quad band performance for faster speeds to even more connected devices.

It’s no secret our reliance on our wi-fi networks has increased as we work from home, learn from home and go about our usual activities like streaming content and playing online games.

Add to this the growing number of smart devices we’re connecting and we’re faced with a situation where we need a network that can not only handle the sheer number of connections but also perform in such a way as to not compromise the experience with any of those products.

And that’s where the new Orbi Quad Band Wi-Fi 6E System comes in.

Netgear’s new top of the line mesh wi-fi router provides additional spectrum for the devices that support Wi-Fi 6E including smartphones, laptops and smart TVs.

The new 6GHz band takes care of these products while the 5GHz band connect our other devices with the 2.4GHz band designed to connect our growing number of smart devices like smart lights and security cameras.

The second 5GHz band is used as a dedicated backhaul channel – technology pioneered by Netgear – so data can be exchanged between the router and the satellites around your home without affecting the performance of the connected devices on your network.

The Orbi Wi-Fi 6E pack (RBKE963) can provide speedy wall to wall Internet access for homes up to 840 square metres in size and can easily handle even larger spaces or areas where more products by connecting additional satellites.

“As a leader in networking for more than 25 years, Netgear is committed to creating best-in-class wi-fi products that maximize the benefits of the latest wi-fi technology,” said David Henry, President & GM of Connected Home Products and Services at Netgear.

“This next technological leap represents everything we’ve been striving for.

“From the moment multi-Gigabit Internet enters your home through our 10 Gb Ethernet port, to our quad-band architecture, 2.5 Gigabit LAN ports and improved 5GHz performance all the way down to your latest Wi-Fi 6E devices, there’s not a single bottleneck in this system.

“Our new Orbi Quad-band WIFI 6E Mesh System delivers top-of-the-line performance for not only today’s needs, but also for the future requirements of even the most demanding and sophisticated smart homes.”

On the security side the Orbi Quad Band Wi-Fi 6E Mesh Systems have Wi-Fi Protected Access 3 (WPA3) with 128-bit inscription.

This new system can also create four separate wi-fi networks with the option of separating the network into their respective bands for easier connection of your latest devices and smart home devices.

The Quad Band Orbi Wi-Fi 6E also comes with a free 30-day trial of Netgear Armour, a service which can protect all your devices from Internet threats so you can maintain a network that’s both fast and safe.

Technical Specifications:

  • Industry-first quad-band Wi-Fi System–– Supports four Wi-Fi bands -2.4, 5 and 6GHz, for connecting the router/satellite to all your devices and an additional dedicated fourth 5Ghz Wi-Fi band for connecting the router to the satellites.
  • Supports all-new Wi-Fi 6E 6GHz Wi-Fi band – The 6GHz Wi-Fi band adds more than double the bandwidth of 5GHz, resolving issues with interference and congestion in the 5GHz Wi-Fi band, and enables amazing multi-Gigabit Wi-Fi speed for connected Wi-Fi 6E devices.
  • 16 Wi-Fi Streams – to provide the best speed, range and performance to blanket your home with Internet speeds similar to what you receive from your Internet provider.
  • 10 Gbit Ethernet port for Internet – Future-proof your home network with support of up to 10 Gbps Internet speeds.
  • 2.5 Gbps Ethernet port for wired connections –Multi-gig Ethernet port for wired connection to network storage, LAN gaming, in-home media streaming, or use it to set up a wired multi-gig connection between the router and satellites with structured Ethernet wiring in your home.
