VERDICT

The Skullcandy Method 360 ANC earphones are a real find. These affordably priced earphones offer remarkable quality and value that will surprise and delight listeners.

  • RATING
Pros
  • Affordable price
  • Stunning audio quality
  • Impressive noise cancellation
  • Slider charging case
Cons
  • Awkward charging case layout
  • Battery life could be better

When looking for earphones the challenge is finding a pair that offers quality and value. The Skullcandy Method 360 Active Noise Cancelling earphones offer just that.

The Skullcandy Method 360 Active Noise Cancelling earphones are priced at just $189.99 and are tuned by Bose who knows a thing or two about audio quality.

As is typical with Skullcandy products, they have a distinct design edge and come in an all-new slider charging case which has a built-in O-ring so you can clip it on to your bag, yourself or your key ring.

The Skullcandy Method 360 Active Noise Cancelling earphones slightly larger than your average earphones and feature a mini stalk that sits outside your ear.

But they still offer a comfortable and secure fit thanks to the angled ear-tip and fin that holds everything in place.

Under the hood is Sound by Bose technology and the result is surprising.

The Skullcandy Method 360 ANC earphones sound remarkable with impressive clarity and outstanding bass.

The sound signature punches well above what it says on the price tag and will delight customers with their audio quality.

But the even bigger surprise was the quality of the active noise cancellation which rivals earphones that are triple the price.

It achieves this with four microphones that listen out for ambient sound and generate a reverse sound wave to cancel it out.

What also helps here is the noise isolating fit of the silicon tip which offers passive noise cancellation.

And it is well above average and really shuts down the noise around you so you are in a world of your own to enjoy your music, audiobook or podcast.

Of course, there is also a Stay Aware mode so you can still be aware of your surroundings and hear what’s going on.

This is important for those who may be using the Skullcandy Method 360 ANC earphones on a walk or run near busy roads and traffic.

And it’s also useful if you need to listen out for announcements at the airport and other public places.

There’s no worry about wearing the earphones while you’re exercising thanks to the IPX4 sweat and water resistance rating.

The Skull IQ companion app also let you get in and tinker with the EQ settings to create your own sound or use one of the three presets.

The app also lets you configure the button functionality and switch from Stay Aware and ANC modes.

Call quality was also crisp thanks to AI enhanced clear voice smart mikes – a feature normally standard on more expensive earphones.

It also has Natural Voice Side Tone which makes it possible to hear your own voice more naturally so you’re not having to shout on the call.

It also has multipoint pairing so you can have the earphones paired to multiple devices at the same time.

The unique charging case is also an attractive feature because you can clip it to your clothing or your bag or anywhere.

One downside is that it is a little larger than your regular charging case yet still small enough to fit in your pocket or in your bag.

Our only issue with the case was the earphones being placed upside down.

If you pull up the slider with the Skullcandy logo facing towards you the left earphone is on the right and the right earphone is on the left and you need to use your opposite hand to remove them from the case twist them around and pass it across to your other hand before placing them in your ears.

To make it easier we turned the case upside down with the Skullcandy logo facing towards us and pulled the slider down.

This way we can grab the left earphone with our left hand and slip it easily into area and likewise for the right earphone.

I know it might sound like we’re making a big deal about the charging case but the ease of putting the earphones in and replacing them back in the case needs to be smooth and easy to avoid the risk of dropping them on public transport or on a flight.

This is not a deal breaker by any means but merely an observation of how they can be used in an easier way.

On the battery side, the earphones offer up to 12 hours of playtime with ANC off with 30 hours of charge in the case and six hours playtime with ANC on and a further 15 hours in the case.

There’s also a nifty rapid charge which offers up to two hours of playtime after just 10 minutes of charging.

The Skullcandy Method 360 ANC earphones Are available now in five colours and are price at $189.99.

VERDICT

The Skullcandy Method 360 ANC earphones are a real find. These affordably priced earphones offer remarkable quality and value that will surprise and delight listeners.
