darethumbWhen buying furniture it’s hard to imagine what it will look like in your house but Dare Gallery has solved that problem with a new augmented reality app.

The iPhone/iPad app, the first of its kind for a furniture retailer, has a gallery of Dare Gallery products – sofas, tables, drawers and chairs – and users can place that piece of furniture in their home with one click.

Once the item is chosen, you can activate the smartphone’s camera and see the selected product in the field of view.

When buying furniture it’s hard to imagine what it will look like in your house but Dare Gallery has solved that problem with a new augmented reality app.

The iPhone/iPad app, the first of its kind for a furniture retailer, has a gallery of Dare Gallery products – sofas, drawers and chairs – and users can place that piece of furniture in their home with one click.

Once the item is chosen, you can activate the smartphone’s camera and see the selected product in the field of view.

The Dare Gallery app can help users visualise what the furniture will look like in their home

Then you can aim it to the part of the room where you’d place the sofa, table, chair or chest of drawers to see if it suits your home’s interior.

Users can also enlarge or reduce the size of the item and even rotate the furniture to suit the size, shape and layout of the room.

It’s possible to capture the image of the augmented reality piece of Dare Gallery furniture in place in your home and save it to the device’s camera roll and you can even share it on email and social media.

“Many people have trouble visualising how their furniture choices will look in their own homes.  Our new App will virtually transport your chosen item into your own room setting allowing you to literally try before you buy,” says Chris Burke, general manager, Dare Gallery.

The Dare Gallery app lets customers try before they die to see if the selected item of furniture suits their room

“Buying furniture can be a lengthy process for many consumers.  This is based on price and also many people worry about making the wrong decision and then having to live with furniture that doesn’t suit their home or their particular needs.

“We wanted to develop an app that is quick and easy to use and would help customers through their purchasing decision and ultimately be happy with their choice.”

Dare Gallery has chosen its top ten products for customers to try now and will release more products to the free app later this year.

The free Dare Gallery app is available now from the App Store for iPhone and iPad.
