Samsung is taking its TVs in all-new directions with the release of the Premiere – a short throw projector – and the Terrace – a high quality television designed to be used outdoors.
The new TVs were announced at Samsung’s Life, Unstoppable virtual event which also saw the release of other appliances, tablets and smartphones.
The Premiere and Terrace TVs have been released at a time when we’re spending more time at home than ever before and our TV is providing us with our main forms of entertainment and our source of news.
The Premiere offers a picture of either 120-inch or 130-inch for a real cinematic experience at home while saving space at the same time.
All you need is a wall to project the image from the Premiere which only needs to rest on an entertainment unit only a few inches from the wall.
The Premiere LSP9T is the world’s first HDR10+ certified projector with 2,800 ANSI lumens to offer high quality colour and contrast courtesy of the triple lasers with 4K picture quality.
The unit also has a built-in speakers with Acoustic Beam surround sound and a subwoofer to provide an audio experience to match the visual experience.
The unit can also be customised with different fabric edges to fit into environment.
Samsung also debuted the Terrace TV – a purpose-built television designed to be used outdoors.
The Terrace and the companion Terrace soundbar have an IP55 rating to protect it from rain, humidity, dust and insects.
Terrace is a QLED TV that offers 4K quality, 2000 nits of brightness and anti-reflection technology to eliminate glare so you can easily watch your content in any conditions.
The Terrace TV will be available in 55, 65 and 75-inch models.
The Terrace soundbar includes adaptive sound which can analyse your surroundings and optimise the sound.
They will be priced at $10,999 (75-inch), $7,999 (65-inch) and $5,999 (55-inch). The Terrace soundbar will be priced at $1,299.
Australian pricing and availability for the Premiere and Terrace have not been finalised.
At the Life, Unstoppable event Samsung also announced a new Odyssey G55 gaming monitor along with new additions to its Galaxy range of devices including the Tab A7, the Galaxy Fit2 and the A42 5G.
