serviceseeking1Ever needed a plumber, electrician or handyman and not known where to look? A new app called ServiceSeeking makes it easy to find the right tradesman for your job.

In the past we relied on word of mouth, friend recommendations and just took a chance choosing names at random from the Yellow Pages.

Now, with the Service Seeking website and the iPhone app, you can submit your job, receive quotes and read reviews about the local businesses before making your decision.

Service Seeking has been used by more than million customers who have compared prices and quotes for their jobs and has more than 100,000 businesses aligned to the site.

Service Seeking connects you with top-rated businesses in your local area which is why you enter your suburb or postcode to kick off the process.

The Service Seeking app lets users lists their jobs for businesses in their area

Customers then describe their job through the website or on the phone before businesses work out a quote and send it directly to you.

The customer can then take the time to consider the best tradies for your job by reading reviews of their work by other customers.

Each business has to submit a no-obligation quote for the job before they can interact with you so it creates an honest and fair system for customers.

Users can choose from a range of businesses to find reputable tradespeople

And each tradie that works with Service Seeking needs to be certified by the site which involves the business taking a free online training course that shows them how to quote and respond to customers.

All businesses in the site are all licensed and reputable . If they have two or more serious complaints against them, their accounts with Service Seeking will be terminated.

The Service Seeking site

A wide range of businesses are covered on Service Seeking including builders, plumbers, carpenters, gardeners, electricians , tilers and roofers.

But there are also accountants, cleaners, door fitters, mechanics, rubbish removalists and even wedding planners.

Service Seeking can be accessed at www.serviceseeking.com.au and through the iPhone app. The Android version will be released later this year.
