The LG OLED evo G5 is in a class of its own that delivers the stunning quality of OLED that is enhanced even further with the latest AI features. The result is a TV experience that is hard to match.

The latest generation of LG OLED evo TVs have improved across the board with advanced AI, faster and smoother performance and vastly improved brightness.

Tech Guide took a look at the new LG OLED evo AI G5 Smart TV which is powered by the Alpha 11 AI 4K Processor Gen 2 which does all the heavy lifting when it comes to delivering stunning colour, contrast and clarity.

This LG OLED evo TV is the Rolls Royce of the LG OLED range thanks to its latest AI technology, remarkable picture quality and slick design.

Design-wise the TV is thin and sleek with bezels around the image that are barely there.

The best option would be to wall mount the TV – the slim wall mount comes with the TV along with the pedestal stand.

When mounted it is flush to the wall and looks amazing.

From the second you power on the LG OLED evo G5 you can see the quality.

And this isn’t just any old OLED panel – there are more than 12 years of LG’s expertise and development that make it a leader in its class and an unrivalled technology for delivering the blackest of black levels and rich colour.

This year’s model boasts a Light Boosting algorithm along with Light Control architecture to offer up to three times brighter visuals.

And that’s addressed what had been one of the only weaknesses of the OLED panel in the past.

We were viewing the LG OLED evo G5 in a bright sunlit room and there was no issue.

There was also no problem too many reflections either.

But the true strength of OLED is the superior black levels and the LG OLED evo G5 does not disappoint.

Not only does the TV render sensational blacks it also provides details in those areas as well so you can enjoy the full depth and contrast of the picture.

And when it comes to colour, it is warm, accurate and natural thanks to the verified 100 per cent colour volume of the DCI-P3 colour space.

Onboard the LG OLED evo G5 is support for Dolby Vision, HDR10 and HLG so high dynamic range is well and truly covered.

The combination of AI Super Upscaling, AI Perceived Object Enhancer, OLED Dynamic Tone Mapping and AI Picture Pro allows the LG OLED evo G5 to analyse every single frame and enhance the resolution, brightness, depth and clarity.

What you’re left with is truly remarkable.

We watched free-to-air TV, streaming content, a lot of sport and played our PlayStation 5 Pro and could not fault the picture quality.

Even watching sports and high-speed content like action movies was smooth as silk thanks to the 120Hz native refresh rate.

One feature that will surprise customers is the audio quality.

Thanks to the AI Sound Pro the TV offers 11.1.2 channel surround sound which divides the audio output and distributes it expertly around the room.

The Dynamic Sound Booster is what enhances and empowers the audio in real time see you’re left with a complete and immersive experience

Viewers will hear sounds coming from around them and even from above them thanks to the built in Dolby Atmos.

One feature customers will love is AI Object Remastering which can extract and optimise each voice from the audio so it remains clear from any loud background noise.

If you were to add an LG soundbar it would take the sound to a whole new level via the WOW Orchestra mode which combines the speakers in the LG TV with those on the soundbar to really take your audio to a whole new level.

On the gaming side, the LG OLED evo G5 can also deliver in spades thanks to NVIDIA G-Sync, up to 165Hz VRR (variable refresh rate), 0.1ms pixel response time and AMD FreeSync premium.

This TV is a gamer’s paradise.

Players can also unlock thousands of games through the TV via the Xbox app.

The LG OLED evo G5 is running webOS 25 which has been enhanced with AI to make it easier to access the TV settings, menus and search to make any adjustments or find any content you’re after.

It’s also possible for different people in your household to be recognised by their voice to receive personalised recommendations.

The LG OLED evo G5 is available now in 55-inch ($4,199), 65-inch ($5,299), 77-inch ($7,999) and 83-inch ($9,999).

VERDICT

The LG OLED evo G5 is in a class of its own that delivers the stunning quality of OLED that is enhanced even further with the latest AI features. The result is a TV experience that is hard to match.
