  • RATING
Pros
  • Nice display
  • Sleek design and build quality
  • Galaxy AI and Gemini Live onboard
  • Excellent camera system
Cons
  • Same camera system as S24 FE

Samsung’s Galaxy S25 FE is a stunning smartphone that well and truly punches above its weight in terms of features, AI, camera, design and value. If you’re looking for an affordable smartphone the S25 FE should be at the top of your list.

Is it Fan Edition or Flagship Experience? Samsung says it’s the latter. We’re talking about the new Samsung Galaxy S25 FE – a smartphone that’s like a highlight reel of some of Samsung’s best Galaxy features that’s been packed into a more affordable device.

This is a remarkable new smartphone that makes it one of the best pound-for-pound offerings in terms of features, design, camera and value.

It is an opportunity for customers to get a taste of the larger Galaxy ecosystem and sample flagship features while enjoying a premium design.

The device is housed in a sturdy armour aluminium frame and has a clean minimal design with flat edges.

Onboard is a gorgeous 6.7-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with a 120Hz variable refresh rate.

The S25 FE is also running Samsung’s One UI 8 – a bold, yet clean interface that sits above Android and offers users an easy way to navigate the device.

The device is powered by the Samsung Exynos 2400 quad core processor and delivers sharp performance.

What the device also brings to the table is Galaxy AI.

And it is likely that this will be the customer’s first encounter with Samsung’s impressive artificial intelligence.

Galaxy AI offers a range of impressive tools designed to help you improve your productivity and creativity.

The other AI tools the S25 FE puts at your fingertips include generative edit for your photos which means you can replace unwanted objects in your images.

Also onboard is Gemini Live which adds a whole new dimension to the AI abilities of the device.

Gemini Live allows users to ask contextual questions based on what is on their screen and what they can see through the camera.

This feature can be used in a variety of ways whether you’re seeking advice on what to wear for certain conditions, information about a landmark before you and much more.

This is an impressive capability for a phone of this price.

Now let’s talk about the cameras.

Again Samsung has over delivered with a triple camera system made up of a 50-megapixel wide, 12-megapixel ultra-wide and 8-megapixel telephoto cameras.

It is the same camera system Samsung offered with the S24 FE – it was great then and still great now.

The cameras can capture stunning images and video and can even produce quality results in low light conditions thanks to the Galaxy Nightography sensor technology and Super HDR that looks after your videos as well.

For what you’re paying for the S25 FE, the camera system alone more than justifies the purchase.

Samsung has also included a 4,900mAh battery in the slim chassis which powered through the entire day and into the next.

For the two weeks we used the Samsung Galaxy S25 FE as our daily driver we were able to easily get through a day  before we needed to charge late in the evening or overnight.

And this was with heavy use throughout the day and with a Samsung Galaxy Watch8 Classic and earphones constantly paired.

The Samsung Galaxy S25 FE is available now in three colours – IcyBlue, Jet Black and Navy and is priced at $1,099 (128GB), $1,199 (256GB) and $1,399 (512GB).

VERDICT

Samsung’s Galaxy S25 FE is a stunning smartphone that well and truly punches above its weight in terms of features, AI, camera, design and value. If you’re looking for an affordable smartphone the S25 FE should be at the top of your list.
