VERDICT
  • VERDICT
Pros
  • Sleek thin and light design
  • Bright AMOLED screen
  • Lots of built-in apps
  • Easy health, wellness and fitness monitoring
  • Amazing battery life
Cons
  • Not much third party app support

The Huawei Watch Fit 4 Pro is an excellent alternative for customers looking for a smartwatch that can cover your health and fitness needs while offers sleek style and a battery life that blows everyone else out of the water.

The Huawei Watch Fit 4 Pro is a smartwatch that can capture health and wellness information as well as track your fitness and it’s all housed in a thin and light chassis.

Weighing just 30.4g, the Huawei Watch Fit 4 Pro works with both iOS and Android so it really opens the market for customers who are looking for another choice outside of Samsung or Apple.

But having a square watch face, it does leans more towards being an Apple Watch impersonator.

And we can tell you it’s a worthy and more affordable competitor.

Users will find 1.82-inch AMOLED display which is smack bang in the middle of sizes that make it suitable for both men and women.

The screen is sharp and bright with a peak brightness of 3000 nits so its easily visible even outside in bright sunlight. That’s three times brighter than the previous model.

The watch is made from aluminium with titanium allow which it’s really tough while still being quite light.

It has a slim profile so it’s not too high and heavy on your wrist.

The Huawei Watch Fit 4 Pro is running the Harmony OS and connects to your smartphone via the Huawei Health app.

From here you can access the settings, change your watch faces (there are many choices), enable notifications and provide a handy dashboard for all your health and fitness stats.

On the health side, the watch makes use of the Huawei TruSense System and this takes care of health and fitness indicators like your heart rate and blood oxygen levels.

It has a sleep tracker and can run you through breathing exercises.

And when it has all your health and fitness data, Health Insights can offer advice on your sleep, stress levels and exercise.

When exercising the watch can detect six of the most common forms of exercise so when you start your walk or run it will pick it up automatically.

There’s now also support for a range of new outdoor sports including paddle boarding, canoeing, surfing and rowing.

Another upgrade is the dual-frequency GPS which can find your outdoor location even faster

But what we love about the Huawei Watch Fit 4 Pro were the additional features that are designed to be used on the golf course, in the water and on the hiking trail.

These are built-in features and require no additional app downloads and no subscription fees.

If you’re a golfer then the Watch Fit 4 Pro is for you.

It provides access to more than 15,000 courses globally and more than 1,350 in Australia.

This means you can see accurate distances and hazards along with wind speed and direction.

If you happen to enjoy free diving, the Watch Fit 4 can handle depths of up to 40m with real time insights and safety alerts.

For hikers and lovers of the great outdoors the new Barometric Tracking offers real time elevation data by detecting changes in air pressure.

The Huawei Watch Fit 4 Pro is also a great companion for smartphone users with notifications from your apps and a heads up when a call is coming in.

You can even answer your calls through the phone – you can hear quite clearly through the watch’s speaker.

But one feature that sets the watch apart is its extraordinary battery life which we experienced can run for more than a week with regular exercise and tracking.

And with a lighter load the battery could run for up to an amazing 10 days.

If there was one downside it’s that the Huawei Watch Fit 4 Pro is a bit of a closed system with little support for third party apps to be installed.

But we found there were enough included apps to cover most user needs.

The Huawei Watch Fit 4 Pro is available now in two colours – black and blue along with a range of straps. It is priced at $469.

VERDICT

The Huawei Watch Fit 4 Pro is an excellent alternative for customers looking for a smartwatch that can cover your health and fitness needs while offers sleek style and a battery life that blows everyone else out of the water.
