Most searched for gadgets and companies in 2021 revealed in Semrush analysis

It’s been a big year in tech and that’s been reflected in the searches we’ve made in 2021 which have been compiled and analysed by Semrush.

The results include the most searched companies, highest growth in searches, most searched for gadgets and highest growth in searches for gadgets.

Semrush is an online visibility management and content marketing platform that tracks online customer behaviours to help marketers and publishers improve their online efforts.

Semrush’s analysis has revealed some interesting tech trends in Australia including the fact that gaming consoles were the most searched for gadgets in 2021.

Of all the Australian companies, Airwallex experienced one of the biggest growth rates in searches – up 83 per cent year on year while other Aussie companies including Envato, Pentanet, Atlassian and Canva all experienced around 20 per cent increases in year-on-year searches.

  1. Facebook – 147.1 million
  2. eBay – 30.8 million
  3. Netflix – 20.8 million
  4. Amazon – 12.9 million
  5. Telstra – 9.8 million
  6. Canva – 9.4 million
  7. PayPal – 8.8 million
  8. Apple – 6.3 million
  9. Optus – 7.8 million
  10. Afterpay – 4.3 million

AUS Highest growth in companies searches in Jan 2021

  1. Cisco Systems – 650 per cent
  2. Activision Blizzard – 523 per cent
  3. booking holdings (booking.com) – 213 per cent
  4. Dell Technologies – 171 per cent
  5. capgemini – 128 per cent
  6. Vivendi – 126 per cent
  7. Canva – 122 per cent
  8. Rogers communications – 120 per cent
  9. KDDI – 88 per cent
  10. Dish Network – 86 per cent
Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S

  1. Nintendo Switch – 2.9 million
  2. Xbox Series S – 2.1 million
  3. PlayStation 5 – 1.4 million
  4. Oculus Quest 2 – 721,500
