The eQuinox 2 smart telescope makes it easy to explore the universe

Exploring the universe with a telescope requires a lot of equipment and a lot of expertise but the new eQuinox 2 smart telescope from Unistellar can be set up and viewing celestial objects in minutes.

Astrophotography is close to our hearts, and we have invested time and money into equipment to track and photograph deep sky objects.

This involves aligning the mount, balancing the telescope, attaching a camera and hoping everything works and turns out OK.

eQuinox 2 is a 110mm telescope that connects wirelessly to your smartphone.

The smart telescope uses the GPS on your phone to pinpoint your exact global position and automatically align.

You can be up and running in less than two minutes.

Alignment is required so the telescope’s mount can compensate for the rotation of the earth.

The companion app is the secret sauce here and it acts as your directory to millions of stars, star clusters and nebulas.

Once you choose the object you want to observe, the eQuinox 2 slews towards the target automatically.

Enhanced Vision technology onboard enhances and stacks the images of the objects, so you’re presented with a sharp and detailed images.

What helps the telescope come up with great results is Smart Light Pollution Reduction which uses an algorithm and a filter to reduce the effects of city lights and allow you to see the deep sky objects clearly.

We get asked about how capture our deep sky astro photos and the answer is it takes a lot of gear and a lot of explaining.

For passionate astro photographers, going to the trouble of connecting and aligning their equipment before spending hours shooting and stacking their images is what they enjoy about the hobby.

For those who are keen to observe the wonders of the universe without the time and hassle, then the eQuinox 2 smart telescope is just the ticket.
