Bose releases SIE2 and SIE2i sports headphones

bosesportsWhy shouldn’t we have great sound when we’re exercising? That’s a question Bose asked and answered with the introduction of the SIE2 sports headphones.

They are the first Bose in-ear headphones specifically designed for users who want to listen to their music in the gym or on the run.

The SIE2 sports headphones combine Bose’s signature audio quality with sweat and water resistance plus in-ear stability so they don’t fall out of your ears while you’re on the move.

They have silicon tips that fit securely and comfortably in your ears and that aim the sound into your ear canal.

But the open design of the ear tips allow the listener to enjoy their music but also still be aware of what’s going on around them.

There’s also a small StayHear wing that creates a secondary lock-in spot on the ear for the SIE2 sports earphones.

They are built to withstand rugged everyday use with durable earpieces and cables.

There are two models – the SIE2 and SIE2i. The SIE2i includes an in-line remote and microphone for use with Apple’s iPhone, iPad and iPod.

On board the SIE2 and SIE2i headphones are Bose’s TriPort acoustic technology for full, detailed and balanced audio output.

We expected nothing less from Bose and found the quality was always there no matter what type of music we were listening to.

An example of the durability and water resistance is the hydrophobic cloth that covers all of the audio ports that manages to keep all the moisture out but that still allows sound to pass through.

Even the SIE2i’s in-line remote and microphone has watertight button housings.

Also included with the Bose SIE2 sports headphones is a Reebok armband made of breathable fabric to fit your smartphone or digital music player while you’re exercising.

The earphones have a short cable which is just the right length for those users who want to position their device in the Reebok armband.

There’s also an extension cable if you want to connect to a device that’s in your pocket or in a bag.

The longer cable is also handy if you want to listen while you’re riding an exercise bike or running on a treadmill.

The SIE2 headphones are available in green for $149 while the new SIE2i headphones come in green or orange and are priced at $199.
