Netgear’s Arlo Baby lets you keep an eye and ear on your child from anywhere

Netgear, the leading brand in home wi-fi products, has brought its high definition security camera technology to a new smart baby monitoring device called Arlo Baby.

The product is packed with features to keep an eye on your baby and give parents peace of mind.

It has also been thoughtfully designed so it won’t look out of place in the nursery and can be turned into a kitten, a puppy or a bunny with optional skins and accessories.

The device provides full high definition 1080p video quality to your smartphone, tablet or PC to allow you to watch day or night.

Arlo Baby also makes it possible to listen to your child thanks to the on-board two-way audio.

And it can even distinguish the sound of a baby crying and send an email or push notification.

But it’s not all about sight and sound. Arlo Baby can also provide information about the rooms ambient conditions like temperature, humidity and air quality.

And if you want to sing your child to sleep, Arlo Baby also has a collection of lullabies in its built-in music player.

It can also double as a multi-coloured dimmable LED nightlight that can be controlled remotely with the companion app.

Arlo Baby has a rechargeable battery on board so it can be used anywhere in the house.

Users will receive free seven days of secure cloud recording with the option to upgrade to 24/7 continuous recording so you’ll never miss a moment.

Later this year, customers will also be able to purchase Arlo Baby with a 7-inch LCD display so they can stream continuously with its own independent wireless connection.

“When we looked at other baby monitoring solutions, it became clear to us that we had an opportunity to develop a product that would significantly improve the experience of baby monitoring for today’s busy Mums and Dads,” said Pat Collins, senior vice president of Arlo products at Netgear.

“With exceptional 1080p video both day and night, crystal clear audio and smart analytics that provide instant alerts when the baby is crying or when their environment has changed, Arlo Baby is a giant leap forward in baby monitoring technology.

“And with our easy-to-use mobile app, parents will feel connected to their baby whether they are across the globe or in the next room”

The Netgear Arlo Baby Smart HD Monitoring Camera (ABC1000) will be available in August and will be priced at $399.

Optional accessories include the Arlo Baby Stand to elevate the viewing angle ($79) and Characters which can transform the camera into a kitten, a Dalmatian puppy and a bunny ($39).

The Netgear Arlo Baby Smart HD Monitoring Camera with 7-inch LCD Display (ABC1000S) will be available in Q4 with the price announced closer to launch.
