Apple releases cheaper 8GB iPhone 5C and discontinues iPad 2
Apple has quietly introduced a new 8GB entry-level of the iPhone 5C to offer customers an more affordable version of the recently introduced device.
Also dropping out the Apple line-up is the three-year old iPad 2 and in its place is the iPad with Retina Display.
The iPhone 5C was only available in 16GB and 32GB when it was released last year.
But Apple has just added a cheaper 8GB model which is priced at $679. The 16GB and 32GB iPhone 5C are still priced at $739 and $869 respectively.
The iPhone 4S 8GB is still available for $529.

The cheapest 9.7-inch screen iPad is now the 16GB iPad with Retina Display priced at $529. This replaces the older iPad 2.
The most inexpensive iPad in the entire range is the 16GB iPad Mini at $349.
The recently introduced iPad Air and iPad Mini with Retina Display are still available in 16GB, 32GB, 64GB and 128GB capacities and start at $598 and $479 respectively.
