Modern technology gives us many things.

Seagate Wireless Plus drive can link to mobile devices and computers

seagatewifidrive4Seagate has released a new external hard drive that provides added storage to your mobile devices as well as your computer with its own wireless connection.

The Seagate Wireless Plus drive – available in 1TB and 2TB versions – allows users to store all of their favourite content in one place.

And because the Seagate Wireless Plus drive creates its own wireless network, the onboard content can be streamed to smartphones and tablets as well as Macs and PCs.

Users simply go to their settings and join the network the Seagate device creates to make the connection before accessing the contents of the drive.

To make things even easier for iOS (iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch), Android and Windows Mobile users, there is an app for each of these respective systems to navigate the content available from the drive.

The Seagate Wireless Plus mobile hard drive is available in 1TB and 2TB capacities

The Seagate Wireless Plus drive allows three movies to be streamed at the same time to three different devices.

This would be a useful feature for long trips in the car or on a plane with young kids who want to watch different movies on their smartphones or tablets.

This wireless connection also makes it easy to back up your content from your mobile devices to the Seagate drive.

For those who work on the move, the Seagate Wireless drive allows you to access your Dropbox or Google Drive files even when you’re not connected to the internet.

This is possible because the device syncs to your cloud folders when you are connected to the internet and, if you have updated any of these files offline, it will update them when your connection resumes.

The Seagate Wireless Plus drive can also be accessed on your home network to view content on your connected TV

The device can also be used as a wi-fi hub so you can share your internet connection with up to seven other devices.

At home the content aboard the Seagate Wireless Drive can also be accessed via AirPlay or on DLNA-connected products like smart TVs, Blu-ray Disc players and gaming consoles so you can enjoy your content on the best screen in your house – your television.

The Seagate drive has its own onboard rechargeable battery that can run for up to 10 hours on a full charge.

The Seagate Wireless Drive is available now and is priced at $219 (1TB) and $279 (2TB).
