Bose SoundSport Pulse earphones review – wireless freedom and excellent audio quality

The Bose SoundSport Pulse wireless earphones make it possible to listen to your music in high quality while you’re exercising and you can also monitor your heart rate as well.

The Bose earphones have had re-design since the last model and now have a different shape and are slightly larger.

And despite being announced months ago, the Bose SoundSport Pulse earphones release was delayed to recheck the sweat proof quality of the product.

Bose went back and gave the product a thorough once over, and when it was satisfied it would meet the high expectations of its customers, the SoundSport Pulse was released.

The good news is it was definitely worth the wait.

There is a single cable connecting each of the earbuds which, despite being a little larger than the previous version, still have a balanced feel in your ears

And even when you’re in the gym or running, the silicon ear tips and wing tips lock them in place so they’re not going to fallout.

The right ear piece has the on/off button and a microUSB charging port. Also on the right side is the in-line remote to control the volume and navigate your music.

They are designed to be used while you’re training so they can handle the sweat and the water so there’s no issue here.

Apart from supplying your music, the Bose SoundSport Pulse can also tell you your heart rate.

The sensor is located on the left earpiece and it measures the blood flow in your ear to work out your pulse.

You’ll be able to see your heart rate in the Bose Connect app but that’s about it.

But it will work even better with third party apps like Strava, Runkeeper, Endomodo, MapMyRun.

It will also work with Apple’s Health Kit app on the iPhone.

So how do they sound? The short answer is excellent. This is a Bose product after all.

Top to bottom, the audio quality is very satisfying.

It’s got it when it counts in the high and mid-range and has a nice bass level as well.

With the silicon tips doing a great job sealing in the sound, clarity is remarkable so your workout music will sound great and get your heart pumping.

On the battery side, you can get about five hours of listening time on a full charge and there’s also the quick charge option too – 15 minutes of charge to get an hour of use.

This is a handy feature especially if you’ve forgotten to charge the earphones before a run or just before you’re about to head out.

VERDICT

The Bose SoundSport Pulse earphones are priced at $299 which may sound expensive to some but is in the same price range of other lesser known brands.

If you want excellent sound quality, the Bose SoundSport Pulse earphones are worth every cent.
