Modern technology gives us many things.

The new Telstra device that turns your car into a wi-fi hotspot

Australians can now turn their vehicle into a wireless hotspot with the release of the Telstra Pre-Paid 4GX Car Wi-Fi to allow passengers to stay connected on the go or on a road trip.

Anyone travelling with young kids can forget playing Eye Spy and now connect up to five devices to the internet at high speed through Telstra’s 4G network and even faster in 4GX areas.

The device plugs into the car’s USB slot or 12-volt power outlet to create a wi-fi hotspot.

The Telstra device is not limited to the car either.

The 4GX Car Wi-Fi also comes with an AC wall charger so you can stay connected when you reach your destination.

“With coverage across more than 2.4 million square kilometres of land, this product will help Aussies connect to the Telstra Mobile network in more places when they’re travelling,” said Nick Broomfield, Telstra’s general manager of emerging mobile devices.

“And because it moves so easily from car to home, it’s ideal for families, weekend adventurers and business travellers as well.”

The Telstra Pre-Paid 4GX Car Wi-Fi is priced at $79 and comes with 3GB of data that expires in 30 days.

Customers can also recharge with the recently launched Pre-Paid Mobile Broadband Data Passes.
