Toshiba has unveiled a 55-inch 3D TV which can be viewed without glasses at the IFA consumer electronics expo in Berlin.

The Toshiba 55LZ2 has a special filter on the 3D screen which can be viewed glasses-free from nine different viewing angles.

It works by creating a separate image for the left and right eye using tiny lenses to direct these images to each of the viewers in the room.

In addition the Toshiba 55LZ2 has face tracking software to locate the viewers positions before creating the 3D effect.

This massive screen has a resolution of 3840 x 2160 – which is double full HD resolution.

The Toshiba 55LZ2 will be available across Europe in December and not know when it will be made available in Australia.

In Germany the TV will be prices at 7,999 Euros which equates for about $11,000 Australian dollars.

Tech Guide is looking forward to reviewing the product in the near future.
