Today’s the day you need to retune your digital TV
The day has come to retune your TV if you live in Greater Sydney, Macarthur and Hawkesbury regions as some of the digital channels will be changing frequency.
This move will complete the digital TV switchover and also free up broadcasting spectrum that will be used for new services including mobile broadband.
To be able to watch all of the channels in their new frequency positions, viewers need to retune their digital TV, set-top box and digital recorder.
After 9am today (March 18) viewers in Sydney, Macarthur and Hawkesbury areas can perform their retunes.
People in places like Picton, Bowral and Mittagong should wait until after 3.30pm to retune.
Users can use their device’s remote control for retuning. Simply locate the Menu button and look for the settings. In this section you should see the options to Auto Tune or Digital Tune.
Select OK and the whole process should be over in a few minutes.
There could be interruptions to TV broadcasts today as TV towers are retuned to the new channel frequencies.
Viewers can visit www.digitalready.gov.au/retune or call the Digital Ready Information line on 1800 20 10 13 between 8am and 10pm (AEDST).
