Panasonic partners with BigPond Movies and QuickFlix
Panasonic has partnered with BigPond Movies and QuickFlix to deliver content directly to selected Panasonic Viera 2011 and 2012 TVs.
Panasonic’s new cloud-based Viera Connect service allows users to access apps, catch up TV, videos, music and games as well as social networking sites like Facebook and Twitter.
BigPond Movies and Quickflix will now be added to this platform and enable viewers to stream the latest blockbuster movies, TV shows and favourite classics all from the comfort of their lounge in just a few clicks of their remote.
Quickflix subscribers can access unlimited movies and TV shows on demand for a low monthly fee.
“People lead busy lives and value convenience more than ever,” says Telstra’s executive director if media applications and user experience J-B Rousselot.
“By making BigPond movies available on the award-winning T-Box as well as internet-connected TVs, Blu-ray players, home theatre systems and media extenders, it has never been easier or more convenient.”
Quickflix CEO Chris Taylor said: “We are delighted to expand our digital services to Panasonic device. We are aggressively growing our content offering, having recently launched products from HBO and the BBC.
“Quickflix is all about delivering on demand content whenever you want it, wherever you want it, and to that end this partnership is an important milestone in the distribution of our service.”
Users of selected 2011 Viera smart TVs will be able to access BigPond Movies and Quickflix after a software update in the coming weeks.
The new range of 2012 Panasonic smart TVs are arriving in stores now and will have these capabilities out of the box.
