LG will come out of the gate at top speed in 2021 when it reveals its first ever QNED Mini LED TV at the virtual Consumer Electronics Show which kicks off on January 11.
This will be LG’s top of the line offering in its premium LCD TV line-up and combines quantum dot and NanoCell technologies with Mini LEDS as the light source.
There will be up to 30,000 tiny LEDs that offer a contrast ratio of 1,000,000:1 with around 2,500 dimming zones along with advanced local dimming technology.
The result is superior brightness, contrast and black levels that completely overtakes the quality of a traditional LG LCD TV.
The new Mini LED TVs from LG will also provide even higher HDR (high dynamic range) image quality and colour accuracy thanks to the excellent contrast and wide colour gamut.
LG will release 10 new 4K and 8K QNED Mini LED TVs in 2021 with screen sizes up to 86-inches.

OLED will still be at the top end of LG’s TV range for 2021 thanks to its self-lit pixels and independent dimming control.
But the LG QNED Mini LED TV will be another attractive option for customers.
The new panel structure enhanced by the Mini LED backlighting will deliver a truly immersive viewing experience within the LCD space.
On top of the combined technologies of quantum dot and NanoCell technology, the advanced LED backlight provides sharp, bright images with deep blacks for incredible realism.
The new LG TVs will also have a refresh rate of 120Hz to render motion smoothly and more accurately.
“Our new QNED series is a premium home entertainment option that expands and improves the LCD TV space and gives consumers another terrific viewing choice,” said Nam Ho-jun, senior vice president of R&D at LG’s Home Entertainment Company.
“These TVs deliver an experience that set them apart from other LCD TVs and speak to our commitment to innovation and pushing the standard forward.”
The LG QNED Mini LED TVs will be on display in LG’s virtual exhibition booth during CES 2021.
