lggoogletv3LG will unveil a new range of smart TV at the International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas featuring the Google TV platform to access apps and content.

The LG models GA7900 and GA6400 will be available in various sizes and will incorporate an intuitive user interface to allow easier interaction with the internet and online content.

Google TV provides easy access to Google’s Play Store where users can access apps, videos and music as well as browse the web with the built-in Chrome browser.

One new feature will be the My Interest Card which can display real time weather and customisable news updates and other content.

The new televisions will be able to connect wirelessly to the internet with the latest YouTube Android app making it possible to pair a device like a smartphone or tablet on the same wireless network with Google TV and send videos from the device to the TV screen.

On the gaming side there will be a new OnLive app which can turn the LG TV into a gaming platform without a dedicated console.

The app will allow users to access hundreds of high quality from the cloud.

LG will also introduce a new Magic Remote Qwerty controller which offers all of the point and click benefits of the Magic Remote and combines it with a full keyboard to make it easier to search and navigate websites.

And of course the LG televisions will include Cinema 3D TV functionality.

Also on board the LG smart TVs is a dual core processor to enable faster navigation and faster access to online content.

Also included is the TruPicture XD Engine to process images and videos in rich and accurate colour.

Design will again be a strong focus for LG with its latest smart TVs with ultra slim bezels and streamlined look.

“LG is committed to providing diverse home entertainment options that offer the most satisfying user experience and the latest LG smart TVs with Google TV do just that,” said Havis Kwon, President and CEO of the LG Electronics Home Entertainment Company.

“They deliver a stellar user experience by merging the latest Google TV platform with LG’s proven smart TV technology. The result is a comprehensive system that is groundbreaking in its simplicity.”

The International CES in Las Vegas starts on January 8.
