LG slices a further $2000 off its 55-inch curved OLED TV

lgcurvedoled2LG has further reduced the price of its 55-inch curved OLED TVs by a further $2000 to bring them even closer to the reach of Australian customers.

The LG flagship 55-inch curved OLED TV 55EA9800 was originally priced at $11,999 and has been gradually reduced with the latest price cut bringing it down to $5,999.

The TV screen itself is OLED (organic light emitting diode) which provides incredible black levels and dazzling colour.

And because the OLED format requires no backlight – OLED sub-pixels are self-lighting – the screen itself is wafer thin.

The LG OLED display is just 4.3mm thick and has a gentle curve to bring the edges of the TV closer to the viewer for a more immersive experience whether you’re watching a movie or sport.

“We believe LG is the only company in Australia that can currently supply OLED TVs in significant volume,” said Lambro Skropidis, General Manager Marketing at LG Australia.

“Much has been written about companies struggling with OLED manufacturing, but not LG.

“We have been able to master the manufacture of OLED TV technology, and we’re incredibly excited that we are able to innovate and lead in this new segment.
