Kogan launches 55-inch Ultra High Definition TV for under $1000

kogan14cesuhdKogan has crashed the party at the International Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas and launched a new 55-inch Ultra High Definition TV priced below $1000.

The Kogan 55-inch LED smart TV will have the 4K UHD resolution of 3840 x 2160 and will be powered by the Android 4.2 operating system.

But the most attractive feature of the TV is the price – $999 when it goes on sale in late January.

The Kogan UHD TV can also upscale existing content from Blu-rays and DVDs into near Ultra HD quality which is four times the resolution of regular full high definition

Also on board the new Kogan TV will be wi-fi and Ethernet connectivity along with one USB 3.0 port and three USB 2.0 ports and a microSD card slot.

“There’s a lot of really exciting innovation here at CES. However, CES shouldn’t be just about technology that the average person will never see or could never afford,” said Kogan founder and CEO Ruslan Kogan.

Kogan will be offering a 55-inch LED Ultra High Definition smart TV for less than $1000

“We want to make the latest technology more affordable for everyone, which is why we’ve designed a 55” Ultra High Definition Smart LED TV for under $1000.

“Generally it’s Australians who look at prices of technology overseas with envy. For once, it’s now the rest of the world looking to Australia.”
