Sony Computer Entertainment has announced the pricing and availability for the PlayStation VR – a virtual reality headset that will bring gaming on the PlayStation 4 to a whole new level.
The PS VR will be launched in Australia at the same time as Japan, North America, Europe, Asia and New Zealand in October.
It will be competitively priced at $549.95 but it will only work with a PlayStation 4.
And you will also need a PlayStation Camera ($90) and PlayStation Move controllers ($60 each) which act as your hands in the VR games.
And we can expect to see plenty of VR titles at launch with more than 230 developers hard at work on games including Ubisoft, 2K Games Sony Computer Entertainment Worldwide Studios (SCE WWS) and Electronic Arts.
There are currently more than 160 games being developed .
The PlayRoom VR by SCE WWS will be available as a free download from the PlayStation Store to all PS VR users at launch.
The PR VR pricing is cheaper than the HTC Vive and Microsoft standalone Hololens and will attractive to gamers who want to enjoy an all-new type of gaming experience.
