Optus unveils new unlimited home broadband plans

Optus today announced new unlimited home broadband plans and bundles designed to suit the modern household which has an increasing appetite for data usage.

In 2014 Australians downloaded more than 1.1 million terabytes of data – a 35 per cent increase on the year before.

Today our data demands have expanded especially since the introduction of subscription video on demand services like Netflix, Presto and Stan along with music services like Apple Music and Spotify.

Today 52 per cent of adults viewing TV shows and movies stream them over the internet.

But the barrier for many customers has been their monthly data limit with many caught short after streaming numerous movies and TV shows.

The new Optus unlimited plans now makes those problems a thing of the past.

There are three bundles:

Home Entertainment Bundle ($95 a month): This offers unlimited data usage along with Optus TV with Fetch and a landline.

Big Bundle ($95): Unlimited data combined generous domestic and international call inclusions.

Ultimate Home Bundle ($115): For the customer who wants everything – unlimited data, unlimited calls and Optus TV with Fetch and the Entertainment Pack.

There is also an entry-level option with the Home Basics Bundle ($70) which includes 200GB of data per month.

Optus customers can save even more by bundling their mobile plans with any of these home broadband plans and get $10 off their monthly mobile bill.

“Every household is different, but customers tell us they want plans that give them the freedom to use their data around the clock and without speed limits,” said Vicki Brady, Managing Director of Marketing and Product at Optus.

“With video-on-demand and streaming services becoming mainstream, we know that unlimited data is fast becoming a must have for many Aussie families.

“Optus is responding to changing consumer behaviour with plans that deliver everything customers have been asking for – loads of data, bundling options to suit their lifestyle, all delivered over a reliable network.”
