Optus launches new 4G BYO SIM only plans
Optus has introduced a range of new BYO plans for users who already have a smartphone and want the convenience of a post-paid plan on the 4G network.
These SIM only plans are aimed at users who have a network unlocked device – whether it’s a brand new outright purchase or a hand-me-down – and are cheaper because the customer does not have to pay off the mobile over two years.
The new Optus BYO plans can be operated month to month with no lock in contract on the $20 or $40 plan with included value of $200 and $500 respectively.
The $20 plan has 25 cent text messages and 200GB of data included while the $40 plan has unlimited texts and 1GB of data.
The top end plan is available for a special introductory price of $60 per month (usually $65) on a 12-month contract and includes unlimited calls and texts and 2GB of data.
BYO customers will also enjoy Optus rewards including $10 movie tickets at Hoyts and selected independent cinemas and the ability to earn Qantas Frequent Flyer points.
“Whether you’ve waited in line for five hours to buy the latest smartphone or are still using a five year-old mobile phone, Optus BYO plans deliver great value and all the rewards our post-paid customers enjoy,” says Vicki Brady, Managing Director of Customer.
