Optus introduces data sharing with better value plans

optusmyplanOptus has today introduced new plans that offer better value and the ability to share your data allowance across multiple devices.

With one plan and one bill, customers can now share their mobile plan’s data across up to five other mobile broadband device devices like other smartphones and tablets.

It can be set up with a $5 one-off charge per device you want to add to your plan. The other devices will then have their own SIM cards that can tap into your main data pool.

“Customers told us they loved the original My Plan products, and thanks to their feedback, we’re making these plans even better,” says Optus Country Chief Officer Paul O’Sullivan.

“The new My Plan delivers all the benefits of our previous products with more included voice and data plus the added value of data sharing.

“Optus is revolutionising the mobile market. With these new plans, we think many customers will choose to ditch standalone mobile broadband plans for good.”

The new Optus My Plan Plus contracts

The Optus My Plan plus contracts have also been refreshed with better value for voice and data as well as the ability to buy an extra data 1GB of data for $10 if you go over your data cap.

Optus has also revised the popular month-to-month SIM only plans for customers who already own a smartphone and who don’t want to be locked into a contract.

At the top end $60 gets you unlimited calls, texts and 5GB of data per month.

The Optus SIM Only My Plan Plus plans

These new Optus My Plan Plus SIM only plans will be available from June 10.

Users can also take advantage of the data sharing feature on the Optus SIM only plans as well.

“Increasingly, customers don’t want to be locked into a contract, and are happy with their existing phone. Optus is the first major telco to deliver a great value SIM-only plan, with the added value of data sharing,” Mr O’Sullivan said.
