LG will unveil the world’s first 3D smartphone at the Mobile World Congress – the world’s largest mobile tradeshow – which begins in Barcelona on February 14.

The LG Optimus 2 wlll offer a full 3D experience without the need to wear glasses.

But not only will it be able to display 3D, users will also be able to create their own 3D content thanks to the device’s dual lens camera for 3D pictures and 3D videos.

And it will be easy to share that content in the home using either a HDMI connection or wirelessly with DLNA (digital living network alliance) compatible products like TVs and computers which can communicate on the same network.

The LG Optimus 2 will be running the Android operating system.

Glassless personal 3D devices were popular at the recent Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.

These devices are able to offer 3D without glasses because they are designed for one person at a time to view them.

And when we do we are always positioned front and centre in front of the display so the 3D will work well.

Is 3D what the consumer wants?
