HTC ChaCha and Salsa Facebook phones on Vodafone
Both devices are running Android 2.3 operating system along with the added HTC Sense software layer.
The Facebook share button located on bottom of the front face of the device is actually context aware which means it will pulsate with light when there is the option of sharing content like when you take a picture, listening to music or surfing the web.
“HTC understands the growing value of social media and has taken that to a whole new level by introducing HTC ChaCha and HTC Salsa. These two new devices bring customers a refreshingly easy user experience and a more immediate way to engage with Facebook through a mobile device,” said Ben Hodgson, Country Manager, HTC Australia and New Zealand.
Designed for users who love the feel of a keyboard under their fingers, the ChaCha makes it easy to stay in touch and share with your friends on Facebook.
It has an 800Mhz processor on board, a 2.6-inch screen with 480 x 320 resolution along with a 5 megapixel rear camera with flash as well as a front facing camera.
The 3.4-inch touchscreen dominates the Salsa and features a unibody design with an 800Mhz processor.
There’s also a microSD card slot to expand the memory while high quality images can be captured with the device’s 5 megapixel camera with autofocus and flash.
The HTC ChaCha and Salsa will be released on Wednesday July 6.
They are available for $0 upfront on a $29 cap over 24 months and $0 upfront on the $45 Infinite plan over 24 months.
The HTC ChaCha can also be purchased outright for $299 as a pre-paid device through Vodafone but will require unlocking for a fee if you want to use it on another network.
