With an increasing reliance on the home’s wi-fi connection to use tablets, laptops, gaming consoles, smartphones and other connected devices, it’s important to plug up any dead spots on your network.

Netgear has come up with a product which can do just that. The Universal Wi-Fi Range Extender increases the coverage of your home network.

The device repeats the signal from your wi-fi router to strengthen or enlarge the network in the home.

The Netgear Universal Wi-Fi Range extender is a small device that can be plugged into a power point without the need for any other cables or the installation of any software.

Onboard the product are LED indicators which can help users find the best location to plug in the product in your home.

“With a rapidly expanding constellation of Internet-enabled mobile and entertainment devices, Aussies are becoming increasingly connected from more places in the home,” said Brad Little, director of consumer channels, Netgear ANZ.

“Smartphones and tablet devices are now being used for high-bandwidth activities, such as video streaming and multi-player gaming that requires rock-solid Wi-Fi connections.

“The NETGEAR Universal Wi-Fi Range Extender makes it possible to enjoy a robust wireless connection in remote corners of the house, or even outdoors that previously had low or no Wi-Fi signal.”

The Netgear Universal Wi-Fi Range Extender is available now and is priced at $129.
