Linksys releases its fastest 802.11ac wireless router

linksysacrouter4Linksys has announced its fastest router yet – the 802.11ac Smart wi-fi AC1900 – which can offer speeds of up to 1300Mbps to the latest compatible devices.

And not only can the device connect your devices to the internet it can also allow access their media files stored within your home network on smart devices like smartphones and tablets from anywhere.

The Linksys AC1900 router ($349.95) is compatible with the latest 802.11ac devices to allow faster wi-fi connections within the home or office.

The speed boost – up to four times faster than 802.11n – is a result of the new beam-forming technology that creates a more direct connection between the router and the device.

The AC1900 router is also backwards compatible with existing 802.11n devices along with the newer 802.11ac products like smartphones, tablets and laptops that are hitting the market now.

Speeds of 600Mbps are possible with 802.11n devices while the 802.11ac products can connect at up to 1300Mbps.

Also available from Linksys is the Wireless AC USB Adaptor ($99.95) that can upgrade your laptop or desktop PC to the latest 802.11ac standard and enjoy a faster and more reliable connection.

The Linksys AC1900 Router is powered by an 800Mhz dual core processor and supports USB 3.0 connectivity so content from connected USB devices can be accessed on any of the devices connected to the network.

The rear panel of the router also has four Gigabit Ethernet ports to connect other devices like computers, smart TVs and gaming consoles to the internet with a cable.

Users can create a free Linksys Smart Wi-Fi account and also download the free Linksys Smart Wi-Fi app for iOS and Android devices to access your home network from anywhere.

The app also makes it easier to manage your home network and provides access for guest connection along with parental controls.
