Modern technology gives us many things.

LG outlines its vision for AI innovations that will go beyond the home

LG has outlined its vision of the future at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas with a range of AI powered innovations designed to elevate and enhance the customer experience.

With the theme of “reinvent your future”, CEO William Cho says LG’s goal is to transform into a smart life solution company.

LG already has a rich understanding of its customers and their living spaces, but it is determined to go beyond the home.

The company has already identified that artificial intelligence will be one of the essential ingredients for success not only on the evolution of technology but on providing tangible benefits in the real world.

To LG, AI stands for Affectionate Intelligence with the belief it can create an experience for the customer that is more caring and empathetic.

LG’s AI has an enormous capacity to gather a wealth of data.

Of the 700 million LG products currently in use worldwide that are equipped with AI supported intelligence senses, the company has managed to learn and analyse the life patterns of its customers.

What sets LG apart is its ability to draw on real life data gathered from these connected devices and provide insights into customer device interactions and their environment, behaviour patterns and even their emotional states.

It is this rich data that will enable LG to offer better and smarter lifestyle solutions.

LG has developed a powerful processing engine called LG AI brain which is driven by the company’s large language model that can leverage user data and ultimately provide intelligent services and experiences in spaces relevant to customers’ lives.

LG says it will only employ AI in a purely ethical manner and will be looking to promote safe behaviour to ensure the security of personal data.

To that end, LG has developed a robust data security system called LG Shield which can protect personal data and information at all stages of the process starting at collection and storage all the way through to utilisation.

In the home LG presented a blueprint for the company’s AI-based smart home which includes new innovative services including ChatThinQ – a generative AI chat bot which can converse naturally with customers along with the 3D Home View which visualises your home in 3D to control spaces in an intuitive way.

LG also has plans to launch a new smart home hub.

And in the mobility space, LG shared its vision for cars as a living space on wheels powered by software-defined vehicle (SDV) solutions.

LG introduced LG AlphaWare, the company’s suite of software solutions for SDV which offers software modules to be used in existing vehicle operating systems to deploy things like in-cabin entertainment solutions, high definition content viewing and high quality sound through a human machine interface solution that utilises AR and AI for an immersive in vehicle experience.
